At Fresenius Medical Care we encourage our employees to work to the highest possible standard, living our values of collaborative, proactive, reliable and excellence.
Throughout our organisations, both within the business and the clinical side, patient care always comes first, and we drive this mission forward by offering our staff a first-rate training and development programme.
To support this goal, Fresenius Medical Care has launched a Fit For Role (F4R) programme for our Clinic Managers, giving them the opportunity to excel as nurses as well as leaders and the best possible managers for their unit.
As well as provide care for patients, our Clinic Managers are expected to manage the clinic in its entirety. This includes leading the nursing team, handling utilities and consumer goods, managing and overcoming crises, and overseeing the result of the dialysis unit, all of which demand skills in leadership, problem solving and critical thinking. Our new programme trains Clinic Managers in these areas, helping them to feel more confident in their role.
The F4R programme has been rolled out internationally across the whole of Europe, the Middle East and Africa, but the UK was first to run the pilot programme, enabling Fresenius Medical Care UK & Ireland to have a hand in the content creation and how it is run.
The part time and virtual programme is 15-months long and consists of three phases with six modules per phase. The three different phases focus on self-management and self-development, building and leading a team, and lastly managing a team and the clinic business.
This programme gives Clinic Managers the opportunity to excel in their role, and supports and empowers their clinic teams to provide the highest quality of patient care.
It has received positive feedback from the clinic managers who have already completed the course, with one saying, “This programme has made a big impact on my career. I learned a lot about myself and my team. It has given me the confidence to handle things on a lighter and positive note.”
