All our employees are dedicated to providing the best possible care for our patients, and part of this is ensuring our employees feel happy in the workplace. Kris Paule, Clinical Training & Education Lead – South, said “It’s important for us to ensure the general health and wellbeing of our employees is being taken care of. Staff engagement is a key part of this, as it helps to create a positive energy and community within the business.”
As such, we like to celebrate when our employees come together to spend time with one another. Recently our Sports Fest 2022 event took place in Tipton, involving a number of employees from our Somerset and Midlands-based dialysis clinics, including Yeovil, Bridgwater, Bodmin, Tipton, Worcester, Woodgate and Sparkhill.
Kris, who attended the event, explained, “We played Basketball and Badminton, splitting us up into women’s and men’s teams per region. For Basketball, the Midlands team won for men, and the Somerset team were the winners for women. For Badminton, the MVPs for men were Russell Naguic & Edzel Jay Pagunsan, and the MVPs for women Nerissa Vallejo & Mercy Segador. It was definitely an exciting set of matches!”
Iris Evaristo, the Bridgwater Clinic Manager, who also participated in the event, explained that she thought it was fun to have some friendly competition between nearby units. She said, “It’s important for us to develop relationships with other clinics, so that we’re not isolated from each other. We wouldn’t usually get the opportunity to meet our colleagues in other clinics, so it's great that we have been able to.”
Coming together to exercise not only helps to build positive relationships within the Fresenius Medical Care community, but also supports the wellbeing of our employees. We’re looking forward to keeping up the friendly competition between our units in future sporting events.
