How our referral scheme helps us grow as an organisation

We also implement a referral scheme within the NephroCare clinics, whereby employees receive £500 for successfully recommending an individual which results in a hiring. A subsequent £500 is received upon the referred candidate’s completion of a probation period. Georgia Rodway joined Fresenius Medical Care 5 months ago and recently referred her friend, Nicola Darcy, a newly qualified nurse, to join the North Ormesby team.


In referring Nicola to FMC UK, Georgia reflected on her own motivations for joining the team. “Fresenius Medical Care UK is one of the best in the world for dialysis. They have a large number of clinics and high patient health targets.”


After beginning her career on a respiratory ward, Georgia craved a greater sense of connection to her patients and the ability to offer a more continuous style of care. This is something that she felt Fresenius Medical Care UK offered. Despite joining FMC UK during the pandemic, Georgia has said that she has always felt that the team was able to make the time to teach and train her in the technicalities of dialysis. “I was always made to feel like I had the timeto learn. The environment can be challenging due to the technical and detailed nature of dialysis, but the team have always offered a calm and welcoming space in which I was able to begin my career.”


After such a positive personal experience joining our North Ormesby clinic, Georgia chose to refer Nicola. “As a newly qualified nurse, I thought Nicola would really suit the nurturing environment that Fresenius Medical Care UK offers. It’s a great place to begin a career as a dialysis nurse as you’re given plenty of time to come to terms with the highly technical nature of the treatment.” Georgia is already looking forward to taking advantage of the training and development programme that Fresenius Medical Care UK offers. “After my probation period, I’d love to further my renal education. something I’m really keen to do is receive a qualification as a Prescribing Nurse. That way, I could further my knowledge and help streamline processes here.”


When asked if Georgia would use FMC UK’s referral scheme again, she stated that she gladly would and that she would always refer someone that she felt was suitable to the position. Due to her positive experience with in the North Ormesby NephroCare clinic - the financial incentive was just a fantastic bonus!


The referral scheme is only applicable for an NMC or NMBI registered Adult Nurse who is eligible to work in the UK or Ireland.
